My therapy practice
Child Counselling York, Harrogate & Leeds
It's so important that in choosing a therapist you pick someone you feel comfortable with and so I will take the opportunity to tell you a little bit about me and how I work. Then you can decide if you would like to arrange a chat with me.

Welcome to My Practice
Hi, I’m Emma, a BACP-registered integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor specialising in children, young people, and also offering therapy for parents and couples. My approach is warm, gentle, and nurturing, designed to meet you and your child’s unique needs. I offer both in-person and online therapy, making it flexible and accessible for those who find it challenging to attend in person.
Child and Young Person Therapy
I have experience working with a wide range of issues, including bereavement, trauma, anxiety, and family breakdown. Whether it’s through play-based therapy, creative media, or talking therapies, I tailor my approach to suit your child’s developmental needs and offer support that fits where they are. This may include sand tray work, miniatures, games, or talking therapy, all designed to be as effective and comfortable as possible.
Therapy can help build a stronger sense of self, increase emotional resilience, repair relationships, and help children and young people begin to enjoy life in a way that makes sense for them. It can also reduce anxiety and fear-based behaviours. I have experience supporting neurodivergent individuals, LGBTQIA+ and gender-questioning clients, as well as those with school avoidance or emotional difficulties related to anxiety.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you with empathy, openness, and care, I’m here to help. My practice is focused on creating a safe, non-judgemental space where you and your child can explore, grow, and heal.

Couples Therapy in York, Leeds & Harrogate
In my couples therapy practice, I use Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to help partners reconnect, communicate more effectively, and address the emotional needs underlying conflict. EFT is a research-based approach that focuses on understanding and transforming the emotional patterns that create distance or disconnection between partners. By exploring and validating each person’s feelings, we work together to create a deeper emotional bond, improve communication, and foster a more secure, loving relationship. Whether you're navigating specific issues or looking to strengthen your emotional connection, I offer a supportive space where you can rebuild trust and intimacy.
